Crème de la crème for Jersey Pets

Jersey pet owners, who are experiencing behaviour problems with their animals, can now find the very best of help on the Island with Rosie Barclay.

Rosie graduated with a 2:1 honours degree in Zoology from Nottingham University and went on to obtain a Master of Philosophy on the welfare and behaviour of rats. She worked as a veterinary nurse for six years and has lectured on animal behaviour and veterinary science at Derby University and Broxtowe College. She has been practising as a Companion Animal Behaviourist for the past four years and is a Full Member of the APBC (Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors). Her experience has been gained from her own behaviour practise, which she ran in the Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Humberside areas, and a behaviour clinic at the South Yorkshire RSPCA. Some pet owners may recognise Rosie from her regular appearances on Channel 4’s ‘Pet Rescue’ programme. As well as having scientific papers on rat welfare published in ‘Animal Welfare’ and the international science journal Animal Behaviour’, Rosie has co-authored a chapter on scent communication in the recently published ‘The APBC Book of Companion Animal Behaviour’. She is currently editing two booklets on how to prevent problems in rescue dogs and cats.

Having moved to Jersey with her young family a few months ago she is now looking forward to offering a professional behaviour service to Jersey residents and their pets.
