Full Member Application

Full Members are practising behaviour counsellors who have achieved CAB or ABT level, which requires at least a higher degree level education in companion animal behaviour and related subjects, obtained relevant practical experience through mentorship, and who have been in practice for a minimum of one year. Full Members are required to undertake a minimum of 30 hours a year of continued professional development , CLICK HERE for more details. The APBC provides a wealth of webinars and conferences throughout the year to provide you with excellent opportunities for CPD.

To apply for Full Membership you will need to have completed your CAB assessment through The APBC internal assessment or another ABTC CAB / ABT assessing organisation. The APBC internal assessment is through our provisional membership and CAB assessment process (click here for more details). Please have a digital copy of your CAB assessment certificate ready to email.

Please DO NOT send payment until your membership application has been approved. We will invoice you the £160 for full membership.

Once we have received your complete application, it will be taken to the next membership committee meeting. This committee meets monthly. So please be aware that, depending on when you submit, it may be 4-5 weeks before you are notified as to the success or otherwise of your application. If you are not successful, we will advise you of what you need to do to become a successful candidate.

For the sole purposes of contacting you by email, telephone and by post to deliver information relevant to your APBC membership as per the APBC’s contractual obligation to fulfil your membership of the APBC and to share information about APBC activities. You may terminate your membership or opt out of receiving information about APBC activities at any time. Upon the termination of your membership all your personal details will be deleted/destroyed within 28 days.
