Presenter Bio:

Alyssa is a full CAB member of the APBC, holding an MSc in International Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law alongside a PGDip in Canine & Feline Nutrition. She started successfully applying nutrition as a support for behavioural modification in 2016, when she worked as an Animal Welfare Advisor in the zoo industry, but has since taken this approach and honed it for dogs experiencing behavioural concerns. Alyssa now works as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist under her business, Holistic Pet Services, where she also offer case support for other professionals. This presentation is meant as an introduction to how nutrition can be used to support a behaviour modification programme. We will review why nutrition is important to consider in a range of cases, the theory of nutritional intervention for behaviour change, and how this may look in reality. We will also look at some case studies of where nutrition has elicited behaviour change.
